Fresh Sushi Co. (Fortitude Valley, QLD)

I've been craving sashimi for the longest time now, so with my newfound time, I decided to walk around James Street (which reminds me so much of College Avenue in Berkeley).  I was hesitant to try out Fresh Sushi Co. because I am quite critical about Japanese food, especially when it comes to raw fish, but I decided that the displays looked fresh and it looked popular enough to give it a go.

I ordered the Half Sushi Moriawashi, at plate of five nigiri and an ikura battleship.  The sashimi was fresh, for the most part, though the shrimp gave me a slight reaction, which doesn't usually happen with the freshest of fish and seafood.  I was a bit dismayed, but overall, the fish were fresh, and the ginger was tender and not sinewy ("old" - as they say).  The price isn't cheap for a fast food-like setting, as their chirashi is 33AUD for a bowl, but it looks like it would be super delicious!  Alas, I will wait until I visit home...
Price: 20AUD/person | $$
Rating: 3.5/5 (maybe a 4/5 for Brisbane)
