Pasta al Pescatore

Today was a lazy day, so I decided to cook for the next few days.  I've been having a lot of beef, and since I couldn't bring myself to buy kangaroo steak, I decided to go for seafood.  I didn't want to cook Chinese, and I didn't want to fry my food (in attempt to be healthy, also the trouble), so I decided on a relatively healthy seafood marinara sauce!

Here's what I used:
250g pre-cleaned squid
250g king prawns
2 large stems of basil, just the leaves coarsely chopped
1 mini onion diced
a handful of cherry tomatoes, halved
1 bottle/jar of tomato sauce of your choice (~600g)
pasta of your choice
salt, black pepper, oregano, and ground chili pepper to taste

I seasoned the squid and king prawns (you can use any seafood you like - cod, clams, muscles, scallops) with a bit of cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and oregano first, then sauteed them in a large pan with the onions.  After the seafood is well done, I added the cherry tomatoes, tomato sauce, and basil leaves and let it all simmer for another 10 minutes.  Add all the other spices, and voila!

Cook up some pasta of your choice (I made fettuccini), they way you want, and enjoy. =)

Mmm, basil!
