Thai Nakonlanna (St. Lucia, Brisbane)

Catered mostly to University of Queensland students, this Thai restaurant, located in Hawken Village (on Hawken Drive), is a nice little restaurant that offers decent Thai food.  The strip of restaurants along Hawken Drive don't particularly stand out from each other, but it's a quiet place for students to share a meal.  The food took a little while to come out, but was nice and steamy, for the most part.  The presentation was decent - better than what I expected from a place just catered to uni students, and the price was alright.  They offer a lunch special, with an entree for just a little bit more.

The downsides were that I couldn't understand our waiter (and I think owner) when he was explaining the lunch special, and the time we waited for our food, but I wasn't in a rush anyway.  I got the chicken pad thai ($9.95) [yes, I know, so unoriginal], and my friend got a beef stir fry dish with the curry puffs (~$11.50).  I'd have to say, it was better than I expected, though a little less flavorful than most Thai places.  This could be a good thing, if Thai food is usually too salty or sweet or spicy for you, so it could be a good thing.  Ooh, and as an aside, they offer free wi-fi!
